Death and Burial Records

We don’t hold any death and burial records at the History Centre.

You might be able to find the burial record(s) you are looking for at the church where the funeral (or burial) occurred (if the church still exists).

Death records can also be obtained (at a cost) from the South Australia Births, Deaths and Marriages. Details on who can obtain certificates can be found on the state government’s Family History Research page.

Other possible sources of death or burial records are:

  • State Library of South Australia Church Records
Note: Access to some church records is limited (to help protect people’s privacy). To access these restricted records, written permission is required from the Uniting Church in Australia, south Australia Synod Archivist. You can contact the SA Synod to get in touch with the archivist and make this request.
